The Executing Move

We Move Series
the executing move for a successful year
Femi Ojo | 23 January 2022
We continue the We Move series with a focus on executing our plans and to do this, we’d be looking at the life of Nehemiah. Particularly, we’ll be looking at how he went about executing the plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Nehemiah was an ordinary guy who was concerned about the state of things in his homeland, Judah. This concern moved him to make a plan to rebuild the wall around the capital city of Judah, Jerusalem.
The task of rebuilding the walls was clearly impossible for Nehemiah to do on his own so he prayed to God about it and received divine inspiration to make an executing move.
Here are the steps that made up Nehemiah’s executing move:
- He was intentional about timing
- He positioned himself for visibility with the people he needed for his plan
- He acted in faith when it was go time
- He had a mental list of everything he anticipated he’d need for the project
- He inspected the physical state of things at the site
- He collaborated with those already there
There’s a lot that you can learn from the story of Nehemiah and how he went about executing the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem. Whether you plan to get a new job, start a new business, get back into school or find a life partner.
Below is an action plan to help you translate the executing move to your life situation:
