How to Live Your Best Life Loving People

Text: Matthew 5:43-48

Loving God and loving people are inseparable. To really love God, you have to love people and to really love people, you have to love God- who created the people.

And loving people is so vital in your life journey that our Lord Jesus places next
to loving God and side-by-side with loving yourself.

Here are 4 things you need to know about loving people:

1. God commanded you to love all people. Leviticus 19:18 EEB
2. Loving people helps you to know God. 1 John 4:8 EEB
3. The opportunity to love people exists in all areas of your life.
4. Living your best life is tied to how well you love people.

What are the biggest obstacles to loving others?

1. Lack of love
2. Selfishness

How can you overcome these obstacles, and live your best life loving people?

1. Sustain a loving relationship with God. Genesis 17:1 NLT
2. Sustain a loving relationship with yourself.
3. Let everything you do in life be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 EEB, Philippians 2:3 GNT
4. Be guided by scriptures and the Holy Spirit. Joshua 1:8 NLT, 2 Timothy 3:16 EEB

What do you get from loving people?

1. You love God and yourself more.
2. You receive God's blessings and find favour with men.
3. You're able to live your best life.

Action Plan

1. Create a weekly, monthly & yearly plan for loving yourself.
2. Follow through on the plan: practice and make it a habit.
3. Create a personal list of scriptures and confessions for loving yourself.
4. Pray to God to help you continually grow in loving yourself.
