Supercharge Your Career

Text: Daniel 1-6 NLT
The subject of career is one that affects everybody that has a reasonable grasp of their mental faculties, even though many are of the view that the concept of career involves only those who are in formal or paid employments- sometimes called 9 to 5.

Basically every mentally capable person is consciously or unconsciously pursuing a career; whether you are self-employed, unemployed, work with an organization or the government, a student, a hustler, an agbero, a politician, a stay-at-home mom, a housewife or househusband, an artisan or in ministry. You are pursuing a career!!!

The word career has its origins from the old Latin word 'carrus' which translates to vehicle. As such, we can describe career as the vehicle through which we live everyday life. More importantly, it’s the vehicle through which we fulfil God’s purpose for our lives.

So, the concept of supercharging your career has to do with making your career attain God’s best in God’s time so that your future is more productive; more powerful; and successful.

Daniel was someone in the Bible who supercharged his career, and below are 7 lessons you can learn from him to supercharge your career:

1. God is the chief navigator of your career. Daniel 1:1-3
2. God uses unlikely conditions or work situations to build your career. Daniel 1:1-3; 2:12; 3:21
3. You have a role to play in the career opportunities you get. Daniel 1:4
4. Favour ultimately comes from God and your God-given ability. Daniel 1:9; 2:31
5. Promotion comes by solving major problems. Daniel 2:31-48
6. Help others when you make progress on your career journey. Daniel 2:49
7. Acknowledge and praise God’s working in your career. Daniel 2:20-23

You cannot supercharge your future without supercharging your career, and for this to be possible, you have to work with God and play your part. God will help you in Jesus name, Amen!

Action Plan

1. Do an audit of your current career situation.
2. Surrender your career to God.
3. Pray; ask for God's direction and favour.
4. Follow God's instructions.
