Supercharge Your Business

Text: Luke 5:1-7 NLT
The first thoughts that typically come to mind when the average person thinks of a business are activities done to make money like buying and selling of products and offering services.
However, I want us to also think of businesses as platforms through which we establish and run our careers. As such, they are a very vital part of our everyday life that we need to pay attention to and actively support its continued existence and advancements.
If you are a student, your success is dependent on the success of your school. If you are an employee, your success is dependent on the success of the business you work for- whether in the private, public or social sector. And if you are a business owner or the founder of an organization, your livelihood and your ability to achieve your objectives is dependent on the success of your business or organization.
What this means is that everyone is connected to a business, and I would even go further to argue that everyone has an interest in one or more businesses. And if you are going to supercharge your future, you have to supercharge your business. You have to because God desires it of you. God wants to supercharge your business.
In Luke 5:1-7, Simon Peter and his partners were able to supercharge their businesses with the help of our Lord Jesus despite facing a challenging situation. Specifically, there are 4 lessons I want to draw from their experience that I believe can help us supercharge our business:
- They were professionals.
- They collaborated with fellow professionals. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT
- They followed Jesus’ instructions. Luke 5:4-5, Deuteronomy 4:40
- They looked out for others when success came. Romans 12:10 NKJV Daniel 2:49 NLT
Action Plan
- Grow in knowledge, experience and embrace industry best practices.
- Stay connected with like-minded industry professionals.
- Follow divine instructions.
- Empower others when you succeed.
God’s grand design for us to live purposefully is to be responsible and productive stakeholders in businesses. If you are going to supercharge your future, you have to actively play your part in supercharging your business. God will help you in Jesus name, Amen!
