Why You Need to Reposition Your Life
Femi Ojo | 05 June 2022
Typically, when the word reposition is used, it means either of two things. The first has to do with changing a physical item to a different location or position, while the second has to do with changing the way someone thinks of something.
And if you are observant enough about the general nature and structure of life, you would realize that everyone needs to reposition aspects of their lives from time to time. In other words, in order to be able to live life effectively and successfully, you have to reposition often.
So, here are 6 principles to serve as a foundation for repositioning your life. These principles will help give you reasons as to why you need to reposition your life.
1. God works out His plans and purposes for my life by repositioning my life.
[Truth: God controls the repositioning agenda in your life].
Daniel [Daniel 1]: God had an assignment for Daniel in Babylon.
Moses: God had an assignment for Moses from birth.
2. God repositions my life when He wants to reposition a family, a community, or an organization.
[Truth: God repositions my life for a bigger purpose].
Jonah: God repositioned Jonah's life in order to reposition Nineveh.
Abraham [Genesis 12]: God repositioned his life to start a new nation.
3. God sends signals [messages] ahead of a repositioning exercise. [Truth: God is intentional when it comes to repositioning your life].
Jesus [Isaiah 7 & Micah 5]: Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the coming of our Lord Jesus, while Prophet Micah prophesied about the birthplace of Jesus.
4. If you feel things are not going right in your life or community, then you need to reposition your life. Your feeling could mean 2 things: 1. Your thoughts are not right. 2. Your strategy is not right.
[Truth: God speaks to your heart when it’s time to reposition].
Nehemiah: He had a deep sense in his heart that he had to do something about the walls.
5. God’s repositioning schedule and strategy is unique to you.
[Truth: God does not want you to copy somebody else when repositioning your life].
Israelites in Babylon [Jeremiah 29:1-10]: They had 70years to stay in Babylon.
Isaac [Genesis 26:1-3]: God asked Isaac not to go to Egypt like Abraham.
6. There are consequences for pursuing your own repositioning agenda and not God’s.
[Truth: God will use extraordinary means to call your attention if necessary].
Jonah: [Jonah 1] He chose to reposition himself elsewhere and almost got his co-travellers shipwrecked.
The summary of all these principles is that Repositioning Your Life is all about repentance. God will help you in Jesus name, Amen!
